What can you expect?
Assessment - A free 20 minute telephone call to introduce each other and briefly discuss your main difficulties and what brings you to therapy. It's important to feel comfortable with a therapist and this first call provides an opportunity for us to assess whether I can offer what you need. If not - no hard feelings! I am happy to refer you to someone whose style may align better wherever appropriate.
I will ask some questions to establish that we can work safely and ethically together and I welcome any questions you may have. If we are both in agreement, then we arrange your first session.
First Session - This will include introductions where I will explain a little more about how I work and you can tell me a bit more about you. It's also another opportunity for you to ask me any questions and to figure out how we might work comfortably together. There is no obligation to continue - however if you do decide it's right for you, then we will also discuss contracting to the terms of counselling. This includes items such as times, confidentiality, fees, cancellations and my approach to providing my service.
Location
I work from my home on a quiet residential cul-de-sac in Hucknall where it is free to park on the street at your own discretion. Alternatively, there is a bus stop within a 1-2 minute walk located on Watnall Road (High Leys bus stop).
Access: The house is slightly elevated from street level so there is a gentle incline and 2 small steps to access the front door. My therapy room is then located to the first floor upstairs.
*Note: For allergy information - Two small dogs and a cat live here. The cat does not enter the therapy room at any time. They are sadly not part of the therapy service.
